Alan "Al" Manthey, age 67, of Ogdensburg, WI, passed away with family by his side and was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 26, 2025, after his fight against cancer. He was born on February 17, 1958, to Gerald and Arlene (Kesler) Manthey in Honolulu, HI.
Al attended Turner High School and graduated in 1976. After graduation, he went on to driving truck. Later in his work career he was employed with Hawk Trailers and retired from there in 2023. On April 3, 1993, he married Patricia "Patti" Schamber in Waupaca, WI, and together they celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Some of Al's favorite hobbies included spending time with family, being outdoors and hiking with his son, Shane. He also enjoyed watching the Packer games with his friends. In his spare time, he was creative in making unique projects, making nothing into something special. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Ogdensburg.
Al is survived by his wife, Patti Manthey; children: Shanelle (Justin) Armon and Shane Manthey; stepchildren: Dennis Dain, Monica (Dave) Brooks, Nick (Jenna) Dain, Matt Dain; mother, Arlene Manthey; sisters: Sherry Manthey and Pam (Ron) Pistohl; niece, Rylee Pistohl; nephew, Ryan Pistohl; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Manthey.
A Funeral Service for Al will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Ogdensburg. A visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Burial will be in Park Cemetery in Ogdensburg. After the burial, please join Al's family back at the church for a luncheon to celebrate Al's life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, Ogdensburg.
