Ann C. Forbes

Age 87, of Manawa, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on May 2, 1927, in Fennimore, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth (Stravarius) Heilmann. On May 15, 1948, she was united in marriage to Curtis Forbes in Mt. Hope, Wisconsin. Ann graduated from Fennimore High School and worked at Parker Pen Factory for a few years. Ann and Curtis moved to Manawa in 1971. Ann was very active in her church community Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa volunteering for many things including: card making, calling shut-ins, making rosaries and also quilting. She also enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels. Ann was an excellent seamstress; she enjoyed making quilts and made many for her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Curtis; children: Susan (Dave) Flock, Larry (Rita) Forbes, Wanda (Rory) Boe, Daniel Forbes, David (Corinna) Forbes, Lori (Dan) Meurett and Stan Forbes; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; siblings: Dorothy (Richard) Trameri, Bernard (Lorraine) Heilmann, Leo Heilmann, Bob Heilmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mark Forbes. The Funeral Mass for Ann will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Fr. Amalraj Roche officiating. A visitation for Ann will be held on Friday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Noon in Prairie du Chien on Saturday, September 6, 2014.
