Carol Gerlach

April 27, 1915 — March 3, 2006

Carol E. Gerlach, age 90, of Weyauwega passed away Friday March 3, 2006 at Lakeview Manor in Weyauwega. She was born April 27, 1915 in the Town of St. Lawrence, Waupaca Co. daughter of the late Edmund and Bessie (Johnson) Bosland. She attended Black Lake Country School and graduated from Iola High School. Prior to her marriage she worked for five years at Waupaca Co. Asylum which is now Lakeview Manor. On September 15, 1940 she married Melvin Gerlach at St. John's Lutheran Church, Baldwin's Mill. She was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega. She was a volunteer helping fold the church bulletin many years. She also served on the City of Weyauwega Elections Board. She was an avid Bridge player, enjoyed cooking and making lefse. Her family was her greatest joy and loved going to Pelican Lake with them. She is survived by her husband: Melvin; her children: Terry (Aniko) Gerlach, Vancouver, WA; Ellen (Mike) Teal, Weyauwega; Chuck (Gloria) Gerlach, Weyauwega; Dick (Becky) Gerlach, Scottsdale, AZ; Dennis (Lynn) Gerlach, Weyauwega; Mark (Marsha) Gerlach, Waupaca; seven grandchildren; a step-grandchild; a great grandson; a step great granddaughter; a sister-in-law: Marian Ruggless, Grand Pass OR; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Wayne, and two sisters: Delpha and Lois. The Christian Funeral Service for Carol will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday March 7, 2006 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in the spring. Relatives and friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
