Clarence C. Loss, age 88, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI formerly of Weyauwega passed away Sunday July 8, 2007 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. He was born September 19, 1918 in the Town of Mukwa, son of the late John and Effie (Nelson) Loss. On June 8, 1947 he married Arlene Koplien at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. She preceded him in death August 24, 1991. Clarence farmed in the Town of Lind from 1950 until 1981 when he moved to Weyauwega. He was a supervisor for the Town of Lind Town Board for 25years and served one term as alderman on the Weyauwega City Council. He had been a resident at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King since 2001. He was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Clarence was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army from 1941 until 1945. He was a member of the Weyauwega VFW Post 10407 and the Arndt Bruley American Legion Post 176 of Weyauwega for over 60 years. He was known for making flag poles that he gave to neighbors and friends He is survived by his children: Gary (Judy) Loss, Davenport, IA; David (Randee) Loss, Hudson, WI; Betty (Lee) Larson, Weyauwega; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother: Robert Loss, Pleasant Prairie; special friend: Elaine Anthony, Weyauwega; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. The Christian funeral service for Clarence will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 11, 2007 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Robbin Robbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion Post's of Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church or School The family wishes to thank the staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, Dr. Dowling and Pastors Robbin Robbert and Dennis Lemke for the care given to Clarence.
