Clifford J. Van Hammond

Clifford J. Van Hammond, age 65, of Weyauwega, passed away after a long lingering illness on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Appleton Medical Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on January 25, 1947, in Appleton, son of the late Joseph and Gladys (Pomeroy) Van Hammond. Cliff was raised in Little Chute. On April 23, 1983 he married Kathleen Vincent in Fremont. Cliff served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. Cliff had a great sense of humor, he loved his family and friends especially his computer and TV, watching football with his son Matthew. He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega. He is survived by his wife Kathy; two children: Jessica and Matthew all of Weyauwega; a brother Tom (Connie) Van Hammond; three sisters: Janice (Chester) Guyette, Karen (Dennis) Krosner, Cheryl (Mike) Scanlon, also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Charlene and daughter Sarah. The Memorial Mass for Cliff will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega with Fr. Amalraj Roche officiating. Burial will be in Wisconsin Veteran's Cemetery in King. A Visitation for Cliff will be held directly at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. The family would like to thank the Weyauwega-Fremont Ambulance, Weyauwega Police and Fire Department, Riverside Hospital, Appleton Medical Center ICU Unit, Brite Star, Jerry Buckholt and Steve and Greta Baehnman for being the best neighbors.
