Dantzi Marie Steinbach died Saturday, June 28th, 2014, at her home, N5417 Cty Rd B, Manawa, with her family by her side. She was born September 5th, 1931, in the town of St. Lawrence, the daughter of Melvin and Gladys (Gunderson) Taggart. Dantzi belonged to 3 churches in Manawa and 1 in Royalton; she loved each one and its members. She also went to the Catholic Church to Christmas midnight mass. She worked at Hamilton Canning factory, toy factory, Sturms, and Trade Winds, but mostly loved being home milking the cows, cooking, and baking homemade bread for family. She read the whole Bible after Verlyn died and baby sat for grandkids and neighbor kids. She loved bird watching, reading, traveling, and watching the horses - she even rode her mustang Coal when she was 73. She married Verlyn W. Steinbach on October 30th, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 20th, 1984. They farmed in the town of Mukwa and Little Wolf. They named the Little Wolf farm Jersey Acres. Dantzi went to an auction and bought 2 Jersey cows and that was the base of the herd. Threw in a few Holsteins just to work the cream out of the bucket! She always loved dogs, all kinds, especially Zena and Snowball, her constant companions. She is survived by her son, Verlyn (Ruth) Steinbach, and daughters, Diane (Dwane) Krueger, Susan (Roger) Arndt, and Vicki (Gene) Bartelt. Grandchildren: William Steinbach and Dantzi Steinbach; Rachel Krueger, Rodney (Linda Schuelke) Krueger, and Roi (Polly) Krueger; Tammy Arndt, Theresa (Don) Ladubec, and Joseph (Jessica) Arndt; Tory Suehs and Jesse (Erin) Suehs; and step-children, John Valdiveso, Tina (Robert) Howeth, and Tammi (Tom) Keck. Great-grandchildren Jacob and Amanda Krueger, Alexia Rindt, Justine (Randy Killeen) Arndt, Taylor Miller, Broderic and Brayden Arndt, and Jerrin, Jayden, Jaxen, and Kinley Suehs. Step-great-grandchildren: Amanda, Shauna, Shane and Jennifer Howeth and Riley Keck. Also a great-great-granddaughter born to Amanda Howeth on June 28, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verlyn, one sister, two brothers, 2 sisters-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law and a great-grandson Garret. She wanted to give special thanks to the good doctors she had: Dr. Bob Peterson, Dr. Paul Sletten, Dr. Jeffrey Whiteside, and Dr. David Keoper. She believed that they all helped her go on after getting sick. Also special thanks to Rev. Vilas Mazemke and to family friends, Sue Meidam, Tanya Wadzinski, and Miguel Delgado and their families. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Manawa or the Humane Society. Funeral services for Dantzi will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazmeke officiating. Burial will be in the Symco Union Cemetery.
