IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald D.
Schamber
September 8, 1964 – February 7, 2026
Celebration of Life
Starts at 12:00 pm (Central time)
Donald " Don" Schamber, age 61, passed away on February 7, 2026 in Ogdensburg, Wisconsin. Born on September 8, 1964 in Beloit, Illinois, Don brought warmth and kindness to those around him throughout his life.
Don was known for his friendly nature and honest spirit. He had a gift for connecting with people and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether it was through a smile or a well-timed joke, Don had a way of making others feel welcome and appreciated.
A skilled woodworker, Don found great joy in crafting pieces by hand - his specialty being bookcases. His creations were not only functional but also reflections of the care and precision he poured into every project. Beyond woodworking, Don enjoyed doing odd jobs for friends and family, always eager to help out wherever he could.
He shared 23 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Bunnie Schamber. Together they built a life filled with love and shared memories. Don was a devoted father to his daughters, Brenda Maggio and Dionne (Mark) Thayer. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Dominick (Hailey) Maggio, Mackenzie Buchanan, Josie Rohde and her friend Wes VanEpps, Amanda Ricketts, Dylan Nyman and Gage (Courtney) Thuriot; and as a great grandfather to Spencer, Jaina, Mila, Tanner, Khalessi, Ashtynn, James, Layna and Waylon.
Don is also remembered by his brother, Steve (Cheryl) Schamber, and his sister Patti Manthy. He held deep affection for his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carol Schamber, his brother, Jim Schamber, and his sister, Mona Merriman.
Don's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him - as a man who gave generously of himself through both word and deed. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
A Celebration of Life for Don will be held on March 7, 2026, beginning at 12:00 PM at Club 161 (E4607 WI - 161) in Ogdensburg.
