Duane O. Arndt, age 77, of Manawa, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 27, 1948, in New London, son of the late Leander and Marion (Natzke) Arndt.
Duane graduated from Weyauwega-Fremont High School in 1966. He worked at Quality Feed and Seed in Weyauwega until he joined the Army and served his country honorably from 1968-1972. On April 29, 1972, he married Susan D. Abrahamson at the United Methodist Church in Manawa. Duane and Susan built a home on the Abrahamson farm on the west side of Bear Lake.
He worked for Pierce Manufacturing in Appleton for over 33 years until his retirement in 2010. He enjoyed working on the farm with his in-laws. He passed his love of farming down to his son Dale. Duane was an avid hunter. He always looked forward to taking his sons hunting during deer bow and gun season. He passed his love of hunting down to his son Dennis. He also loved to go snowmobiling, riding his ATV, and going on vacation to their house in the Town of Silver Cliff with his family (Susie, sons, and parents). Duane and Susan are members of St. John Lutheran Church, Baldwins Mill.
Duane is survived by his wife, Susan D. Arndt; sons: Dale Arndt and Dennis (Heather) Arndt, both of Manawa; grandson, Devin Arndt; three brothers: Roger (Susan M.) Arndt, David Arndt, and Paul Arndt, all of Weyauwega; brother-in-law, Duane (Cathy) Abrahamson of Manawa; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Edmund and Doris Abrahamson; brother-in-law, Raymond Nohr and sister-in-law Carol Nohr.
The Funeral Service for Duane will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Manawa with Rev. Steve Grunwald officiating. A private family burial will be held at Baldwins Mill Cemetery, Town of Royalton. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
