Elaine E. Hanneman

Age 78, of Weyauwega, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the Weyauwega Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 28, 1928 in Lind Center on the family farm near Clarks Mills on Highway X, daughter of the late Martin & Laura (Rucks) Strey. Elaine attended Weyauwega High School and worked at the Lutheran Aid after high school. On February 14, 1948 she married Alfred A. Hanneman of Waupaca at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2005. Elaine and Alfred sold Permanent Stainless Steel Cookware in Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota. After starting a family, Elaine stayed home a few years. She did party plan selling of many different products, and won her first sales convention to Florida for Artex Paints. Elaine did phone marketing jobs in Appleton through the years. When the children were grown, she worked in sales for AAA Roadside Assistance, and was sent on many trips, which included Europe for top sales. In the 1970,s Elaine worked for AFLAC and helped many families with cancer and heart trouble claims. AFLAC sent Elaine to many different countries for top sales at their annual conventions all over the world. She retired in 1993 continuing her travels and enjoying family and her summer home on Lake Emily in Amherst Junction. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Elaine is survived by her children: Karen (William) Gething, New London; Dale Hanneman, Sherwood; Sandra Peterson, Appleton; Sally Belt (Howard) Mattes, Waupaca; her grandchildren: Brandy Jo (Mark) Nelsen, Green Bay; Jesse (Tiffany) Peterson, Greenville; Benjamin (Nicole) Belt, Waupaca; Angie Rolewski, Appleton; Shea Hanneman, Sherwood; great grandchildren: Aiden, Emily and Hannah Nelsen, Kayla and Josie Rolewski, Brandon Belt; two sisters: Myrtle Thews, Appleton; Adeline Leuenberger, California; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter Jean Marie and one sister Meta Greening Kelly, and a special niece and friend Delores Zellmer. The funeral service for Elaine will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Robbin Robbert and Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega on Friday, February 16, 2007 from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from noon until the time of the service. There will be a celebration of life service at the funeral home on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
