Everett Glocke

May 21, 1926 — July 3, 2007

Age 81, passed away Tuesday afternoon July 3, 2007 at Manawa Community Nursing Center. Everett was born on May 21, 1926 in the same home he was still living in until 2 months ago. He was the son of Bernard and Emma (Suehs) Glocke. He grew up on the family farm. He was married to Lois Ferg on September 11, 1948 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He was a 1943 graduated from Little Wolf High School. Everett also was baptized and confirmed (1939) at St. Paul's in Manawa. He farmed on the home farm for many years. He managed the Ripon Pickle Factory in Manawa for many years and also had an Appleton Post Crescent paper route the last 12 ½ years. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, where he had been president also served as an elder several times. He served on the finance committee for many years and on the building projects of building the church and remodeling the school. He played in band for 6 years in school and also played in a polka band later. He loved music. Everett sang in the church choir, for weddings and funerals in the area for many years. He managed Manawa baseball team and played ball many years. Everett bowled on various teams until his legs wouldn't let him anymore. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Lois; two sons: Royden (Mary); Dennis (Robin); a daughter Sheri (fiancé Cory), eight grandchildren: Bradley (Kristina) Matthew, Amanda (Nathan), Ashlee, Joshua, Jami, Jordan and Jessica; one great granddaughter Aubree. Everett is further survived by other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Everett is preceded in death by a brother Harold, a sister Gertrude and an infant son Mark. Funeral services for Everett will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran church in Manawa with Pastor Wally Waite officiating. Interment will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery in Manawa. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa and after 9:00 a.m. directly at the church until the time of service.
