Fredric 'Freddie' Walker

June 15, 1934 — July 18, 2014

Age 80, of Weyauwega, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 18, 2014. He was born on June 15, 1934 in Menasha, son of the late Roy and Margaret (Krause) Walker. After graduating from Menasha High School, he joined the National Guard Red Arrow Division in Neenah. He then joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. Freddie worked at American Can/James River Corporation in Menasha for over 50 years. He was an avid sportsman who loved deer hunting and fishing. He also loved cutting wood and building Sturgeon Shacks. Freddie loved spending time at his favorite "hang outs" with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter: Micki Sue Prinsen (Mike Peterson); brother Michael Joseph (Judy) Walker; granddaughter Shannon Prinsen; 3 great-grandchildren: Savannah, Shawn and Sahara; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends Andy and Kathy Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, sister Charlotte Pointset, grandson Shawn Prinsen and granddaughter Sheyenna Prinsen. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Freddie's life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at P.J s Chimney Inn (N1298 County Road X) in Weyauwega from 1-4 p.m. Private graveside rites with Full Military Honors will be held at Wisconsin Veteran's Cemetery in King at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred.
