Gene A. Loken, age 81, of Clintonville, passed away at home on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, with his family at his side. He was born October 7, 1932, in Iola, son of the late Ted and Leona (Fietzer) Loken. Gene served his country in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean Conflict. On February 27, 1976, he married Mary Georgeson at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco. He farmed, had beef cows, and worked at A Sturm & Sons until his retirement in 1995. He loved going for rides and cruising around. Everybody will remember him for his smile. He is survived by his wife Mary of 38 years; children: Kathy (Larry) Pruess, and their children: Ann, Jason and Tina; Jim (Brenda) Loken, and their children: Sabra and Jeremy; Cindy (Chris) Prinsen, and their children: Natasha and Kelli; stepson: Tom (Carrie) Georgeson, and their children: Amanda and Samantha; also great-grandchildren; a brother: Kenny Loken; 3 sisters: Joyce (Norman) Hitzke, Judy (Dennis) Biedemann and Mae Lou Biedemann. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters-in-law Viola Loken and Donna Loken. The funeral for Gene will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. A visitation for Gene will be held directly at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
