Genevra "Genny" Collar, age 63 of Weyauwega passed away on July 27th, 2026 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Genny was born on September 12th, 1962, in New London, to Francis "Frank" and Eileen (Partika) Collar. Genny spent her childhood on the family farm near Bear Lake and graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1981.

Genny worked at various places including Northport Motors and Presto Products before starting her own in home daycare in 1998. She ran her daycare until 2018 making lifelong friends out of the families that entrusted their children with her. After closing her daycare, she worked at Walmart in New London, making many friends and backing up aisles because some people that shopped demanded they be checked out by her.

Genny's greatest joy in life was being a mother. Whether it was her own children, daycare children, or children's friends, her motherly instincts were second to none. One of Genny's best traits was being neighborly. Anywhere she lived, if the neighbors were elderly, she made sure dinner was on the table, the snow was shoveled, the leaves were raked, and the grass was mowed.

Genny is preceded in death by her parents; son, Brandon Colligan; brother, Dale Collar; sister, Sue Montgomery; brother-in-law, Mike Jansen; niece, Jill Maus; and her furever friend, Charlie.

She is survived by her son, Tyler Colligan (Kaitlyn Appleby); sisters: Pat Anunson, Mary Jansen, Lori Collar, Donna (Roger) Besaw, Katie Weiland (Greg Heineman); brother-in-law, George Montgomery; many nieces and nephews; grandmother to her sons and friend Mary Colligan; father of her sons Michael Colligan; and many special friends.

The family would like to thank the ThedaCare and Froedtert cancer teams, especially Dr Wong and Mitchell Fowler, Moments Hospice, and Whispering Pines-Ripon for the combined care over the past year.

The Funeral Mass for Genny will be held on Monday, August 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega with Fr. Kris Mekala officiating. Burial will be in Ravine Cemetery, Town of Springwater, Waushara County. A visitation for Genny will be held at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Weyauwega on Sunday, August 2, 2026 from 2-5 P.M. and AT THE CHURCH on Monday from 9:30 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. Per Genny's request, please dress casually.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed toward the family.
