George A. Mitze IV

George Albert Mitze IV, age 66, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in Weyauwega, Wisconsin, following a battle with Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Born in Denver, Colorado, on December 23, 1959, to George and Jacqueline Mitze III, George spent his later years in Wisconsin.

He is survived by his children: Tina Johnson and George A. Mitze V; his son's mother, Brenda Thontlin; his stepchildren: Jesse, Jaclyn, and Joseph; several grandchildren: Matthew, Dylan and Andy; and step-grandchildren: Kyle, Violet and Jasper.

He also leaves behind his siblings: Theresa (Danny) Petrino, Anna (Darron) Nielsen, Laura (Scott) Huske, and Tim (Jeannie) Schneiderwent, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Carl Schneiderwent, and his sister, Sharon Sells.

While his journey through life was rarely easy, his family holds gently to the hope that his burdens have been lifted and he has finally found quiet peace. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service.
