George R. Smith

George Robert Smith, age 76 of King, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. He was born on October 14, 1949, son of the late George E. and Dorothy (Seifeldt) Smith.

He attended school in the Oshkosh School District. George entered the Army on January 1, 1968, and was deployed to Vietnam serving 3 years. On July 8, 1969, he married Jean Techlow in Oshkosh. George enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

George is survived by his wife, Jean; children: John (Robyne) Smith and Virginia (Steve) Davies; six grandchildren: Joshua (Jessica) Smith, Joseph (Sarah) Thompson, Ashlee (Jeremy) Saalfeld, Megan (Brady) Blowers, Amber Smith, and Danielle (Benji) Schultz; great grandchildren: Zachary, Xavior, Brantly, Wilder, Isabella, Parker, Phillip, Elijah, Taylor, Austin, Jacquelyn, Everlee, Elodie, Ember, Harper, and Amelia. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Erma and Robert Techlow; and 4 brothers-in-law.

The graveside service for George will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Springwater Baptist Cemetery in Waushara County.
