Gordon A. Klug

January 10, 1920 — October 13, 2006

age 86 of Weyauwega passed away Friday October 13, 2006 at the Weyauwega Health Care Center. He was born January 10, 1920 in Weyauwega son of the late Alfred and Helen (Ziemer) Klug. Gordy lived in Weyauwega his entire life. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. On June 4, 1949 he married Elaine Haight at the Royalton Congregational Church. He was a member of the Weyauwega Rural Fire Department 37 years, from 1946 until retiring as Assistant Fire Chief in 1982. He was a life member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. He was instrumental, along with several others, in the planning and building of the Weyauwega City Park. Gordy enjoyed woodworking, snowmobiling, gardening, walking and caring for his special pet dog, "Molly". Survivors include his wife Elaine: two daughters: Linda Klug, Weyauwega; Mary Ann (Greg) Oehlke, Fremont; four grandchildren: Graham (Candy) Klug, Waupaca; Tanner Oehlke and Miranda Oehlke, both of Fremont; Brieanne Oehlke, St. Norbert College, De Pere; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister: Verna; a brother: Ralph; two brothers-in-law: Jim Haight and Harold Haight. The funeral service for Gordy will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday October 16, 2006 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke and Rev. Robbin Robbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Relatives and friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 4:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. Sunday and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
