Harold A. Oehlke

April 5, 1929 — November 10, 2013

Age 84, of Waupaca, formerly of Pine River, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Riverside Hospital in Waupaca. He was born on April 5, 1929, in the Town of Saxeville, Waushara County, son of the late August and Esther (Miller) Oehlke. On October 26, 1952, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Nelson at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fremont. She preceded him in death on August 25, 2011. They farmed for many years in the Town of Lind. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind, where he played dartball and served on various committees in the church over the years. He was also a caretaker at Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega for a number of years. He liked to snowmobile, hunt, fish, do woodworking, play cards and spend time with family and friends. He is survived by a daughter: Linda (Roger) Tessen, Waupaca; 3 grandchildren: Brad Tessen and special friend Tiffany Winters; Teresa Tessen, and Jodi Nelson and special friend Chris Meyer; 2 great grandchildren: Tyler Nelson and Shaw Hartke; a sister Lucille Haase; best friends Caroline Brooks and Pauline Roggow. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, a brother Paul Oehlke; brothers-in-law Lewis Haase and Robert Nelson and William Nelson; and a sisters-in-law Alice Oehlke and Emerald Nelson and Barbara Nelson; mother and father-in-law Cecil and Mabel Nelson. The funeral service for Harold will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind with Rev. H. William Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. A visitation for Harold will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 4-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
