Helen M. Beyer

September 19, 1928 — June 11, 2016

Helen M. Beyer, age 87, died at ThedaCare-Appleton on June 11, 2016.

Helen was born on September 19, 1928, Town of Little Wolf, the daughter of Gustave And Lottie Heimbruch

Helen, also known as Mickey and Marcella, grew up on the Heimbruch farm on Mountain Lake road, and graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1946.

A wonderful daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, she is survived by 4 children, Marijo (and Michael) Kelly of Clintonville; Lolly Ann (and Ken) Heger of Scandinavia; Charles (and Shauna) Piscitello of Encinitas, CA; and John (and Ghi) Piscitello of New London; 11 Grandchildren - Barry, Sam, Peter, Kenny, Marcus, Elizabeth, Anthony, Ryan, Gabriel, Grace, and Apollo; 9 Great grandchildren- Daniel, Sabrina, Braden, Taryn, Dante, Spencer Madison, William, and Jace; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in Death by her parents, 6 siblings (Beatrice, Lottie, Gus, Carolina, David, and Loren), 2 husbands (Peter Piscitello and George Beyer) and a grandson Kevin.

Helen lived in Milwaukee and New London in early life, and became known as "Mickey" from her young days on a New London bowling team where she dressed as Mickey Mouse.

She lived in Manawa from 1967 to 2013.

Helen was a homemaker and caregiver to many people over her lifetime. Many who were blessed to be cared for by her over the years affectionately called her "Aunt Mickey".

Her home was a gathering place for friends, known as Mickey's kitchen, where thousands of gallons of coffee were consumed while laughing, making flower arrangements, wreathes and Christmas cookies, fudge, peanut clusters and decorations. She loved everyone, but especially treasured her lifelong friendship with Carmen Bessette. Her favorite holiday was Halloween.

She loved flowers, music, jigsaw puzzles, jokes, the Green Bay Packers and her family. She was always ready and willing to tell stories about family history and was a great source of knowledge on family lineages to many who asked her. She was especially proud of her children.

Since 2013, she had been a resident at Bethany Home of Waupaca, where she was recognized by her fellow residents as the amazing puzzle lady, for her passion and success for completing challenging jigsaw puzzles.

She had a great love for family and friends, and was always willing to give of herself with incredible compassion no matter the situation or person in need.

She made an amazing mark on the world, and we will miss her.

A funeral service for Helen will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Bethany Home Chapel, Waupaca, with Rev. Eugene Treglaff officiating.
