Prill, Irma L.
Irma Leone Prill, age 97, of New London, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2016. Irma was born on November 20, 1918, in the Town of Little Wolf, to the late Frank and Delia (Fuerst) Schramm. She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco and was christened the “Coffee Lady” as she made thousands of cups of coffee for all the St. Mark events and celebrations over the years. Irma enjoyed gardening and her beautiful flowers lit up her home for years. Her baking was loved for years by anyone fortunate enough to enter Irma’s kitchen. The cookie jar was the very first thing touched when walking into grandma’s kitchen, followed by her hug and smile. Irma enjoyed making family and friends feel at home. She loved to visit and share stories. Her grandchildren would often remark, “How do you remember all of that, grandma?”
It is impossible to go into Irma’s life without mentioning Harold. You would never hear anyone mention Irma, without Harold. It was always and will be forever, Harold and Irma. They lived their lives together for 69 years. They farmed, raised children, watched grandchildren, attended church, celebrated weddings of their children and grandchildren, and suffered through the funerals of relatives and friends. It was always the two of them, until Harold’s passing at the age of 94. Irma was cherished by her family and will be missed so very much.
Survivors include, her children, Janice (Leonard) Much and John (Carol) Prill; grandchildren, Julie (Josh) Burmeister, Stephanie (Joseph) Lowney, and Samantha (David) Farah; great-grandchildren, Bryce, Grant, Briggs, Jaxon, and Adalyn; brother, Lester Schramm of Crandon and sister-in-law, Lynette Schramm of New London.
Besides her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband Harold; granddaughter, Lori; sister, Gertrude Griffin; brothers, Roy and Melvin and most recently, sister-in-law, Donna Schramm and niece Eileen Olmstead.
A funeral service for Irma will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffery Smiles will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in the Town of Union.
