James H. Landon

May 30, 1920 — January 26, 2008

age 87, of Waupaca, formerly of Port Wing, WI passed away Saturday January 26, 2008 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born May 30, 1920 in Exeland, WI. On June 28, 1941 he married Florence Schorr. He was a farmer and building contractor in the Port Wing area for more than 40 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Port Wing, WI and served on the church council. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and spending time in his work shop. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was active in the American Legion Post in Port Wing. He is survived by his wife of 67 years: Florence; his daughter: Shirley (William) Sexton, Waupaca; two granddaughters: Shelly (Jon) Wertschnig and their daughter Josephine, Germantown; Stacey (Gary) Petroff, Appleton; a grandson: Ryan (Ellen) Sexton and son Adam, Prior Lake, MN; twelve Weinberger brothers and sisters; four Villiard brothers and sisters; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral service for James will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday January 30, 2008 at Ainsworth Hall Chapel, Wisconsin Veterans Home, King Wisconsin with Pastor Wayne Schwanke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Relatives and friends may call at the Ainsworth Hall Chapel, Wisconsin Veterans Home, King, WI from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service.
