James Leonard Zandrow

Age 71, of Weyauwega, WI, died on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his residence. He was born on October 14, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Edmund and Bernice (Schmuldt) Zandrow. On August 14, 1980, he married Virginia ("Virg") Dowden. She preceded him in death in 2003. Jim lived and worked in the Chicago area, including Elmhurst and Lombard, Illinois, until moving to Wisconsin in 1986. He has been a resident of Weyauwega since 2000. Jim was currently serving the City of Weyauwega as an alderman. He was especially accomplished in mechanics and stock car racing in his youth and remained a passionate, lifelong fan of the Chicago Bears. He is survived by cousins Henry Barth of Mt. Prospect, IL, Nanette (Tony) Paparelli of Sebastian, FL, Thomas Menczywor of Chicago, IL,the late Ron (Kathy) Menczywor of Huntley, IL, Kenneth Menczywor of Oak Lawn, IL, John (Noreen) Menczywor of Muncie IN, Mary Ann (David) Lillich of Whitefish Bay, WI, and Leonard (Susan) Zandrow of Sharon, MA. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service for Jim will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014 at noon at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega, next to his beloved wife, Virg.
