Jane L. Dietz, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025. She was born in Marinette, WI on June 20, 1947, the daughter of Ralph and Shirley (Bennette) Madden. After graduating from Oak Creek High School in 1965, she continued on to UW-Oshkosh, where she received her B.S. in Physical Education with a minor in Health Education. Jane was both a proud wife and mother. She married Gilbert Dietz in 1969, totaling 47 years of marriage, and was blessed with three children, Lori Fuller of Dunlap, TN (husband Bryan, daughters Abbigail and Allison), Jeffrey Dietz of Manitowish Waters, WI (son Trapper, and daughters Chloe and Cali), and Kristin McFaul of Sullivan, WI (son Austin, and daughters Mariah and Serena). Growing up with her brother William "Bill" Madden, of Murphy, NC (wife Connie, son Micheal and daughter Jennifer), brother Don of Murphy, NC, and sister Constance Marie, Jane loved living life to the fullest. The Bennette-Madden-Kowbow-Dietz family tree stretches far, even distant cousins, and great aunts and uncles found themselves spending time with Jane and her children.
She found her calling in Special Education and later attended UW-Stevens Point to pursue her Master's Degree in Special Education. While raising her family, Jane frequently substitute taught in the Manawa, Marion, and Clintonville school districts. Once her children were old enough, Jane stepped into a full-time role at Marion Elementary School. Adding to her accolades, Jane transferred to Manawa High School, where she retired after over four decades of shaping tomorrow's youth, a truly noble cause. The number of hearts and lives touched by Jane's kindness and tutelage estimates in the hundreds. More often than not, she knew someone wherever she went, and always greeted them with her infectious smile. Making new friends came naturally to Jane, her outgoing, social-butterfly personality is one to be remembered. The impact Jane had on those around her and those she loved will live on through all of us, she was a cornerstone in the Manawa/Marion community. She is so very cherished and will be deeply missed by all. To be known by Jane was to be loved by Jane.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Shirley, husband, Gilbert, in-laws, Ervin and Lorraine Dietz, sister Constance Marie, son-in-law, Bryan, and granddaughters, Abbigail and Allison.
