Janet Mae Kriese

September 23, 1920 — February 23, 2006

age 85, of Weyauwega passed away Thursday February 23, 2006 at Cherry Meadow Hospice in Appleton. She was born September 23, 1920 in Neenah, WI daughter of the late Odie and Gladys (Waite) Gilbertson. She moved from the Oshkosh area with her parents to Weyauwega in 1932. She graduated from Weyauwega High School with the class of 1938. She earned a degree in teaching from Oshkosh State Teachers College in 1940 and taught grades one through eight at Little Mountain School in the Town of Union, Waupaca Co., for two years. On June 28, 1942 she was united in Holy Matrimony by Pastor Irwin Habeck to Carlton E. Kriese of Weyauwega. Carlton preceded her in death January 1, 1993. Janet engaged in farming with her husband in the Towns of Weyauwega and Royalton for 30 years, moving to the city of Weyauwega in 1971. She was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, Weyauwega and of the Sew in So Club. Janet is survived by 2 sons: Carlton (Dee Dee) Kriese Jr, Neenah; Ronald (Mary Kay) Kriese, New London; 6 grandchildren: Todd, Jeff, Andrea, Brett, Jill and Nicole; 3 great grandsons: Ty, Hans and Hudson; a brother: Duane (Dorothy) Gilbertson, Weyauwega; two sisters: Elaine (Gilbert) Hofacker, California; Joyce (Merlyn) Prahl, Weyauwega; sisters-in-law: Margie Gilbertson, Eileen (Kieth) Wall, Mary Lou (Marvin) Joch; a brother-in-law: Marty Vey; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son: Thomas Gilbert Kriese and brother Nathan Gilbertson. The Christian funeral service for Janet will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday February 27, 2006 at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega. Rev. Dennis Lemke will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Relatives and friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
