Janice M. Schuelke, 91, of New London, went peacefully to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Trinity Terrace in New London. Janice was born in Marathon County on January 31, 1934, daughter of the late Clarence and Sophie (Tryba) Leary. In 1954, she graduated as a registered nurse from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac and was a nurse for her entire career. On August 10, 1957, she married Manyard Schuelke, and they were blessed with 6 children.
Janice is survived by her sons: Mark (Darlene), Paul, and Pete Schuelke; her daughter, Cindy (Mark) Rohan; her grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings: Doris Brasch, Shirley (Martin) Leary, Donald Leary, Bud (Patricia) Leary, Betty (James) Burns. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Manyard; sons: Manyard Jr. and Thomas Schuelke; daughter-in-law, Colleen Schuelke; step grandson, Bill Guyette; brothers: Cliff, Roger, and Lewis Leary.
Janice was able to spend the last three years with her sister, Doris, as they both resided in the same facilities. They shared many memories during this time. The family would like to express their gratitude to the hospice and Trinity Terrace staff for all that they did for our mother while she resided there.
A memorial service for Janice will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Manawa with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM. Interment of cremains will be in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Manawa.
