Jean M. Krause, age 87,of Symco/Manawa, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026. She was born on June 6, 1938 in Elmhurst, Illinois, daughter of the late Robert and Gladys (Skeltis) Thompson. Jean married Erdwin Krause on Sept 2, 1969 in Wheaton, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2025.

Jean enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, shopping, and playing on her tablet.

She is survived by her children: Erdwin Krause Jr., Marianne (Thomas) Konertz, Kristine Juul, Jim Curl and Robert (Jill) Krause; grandchildren: Tony, Alexandria, Samantha, Jessica, Billy, Drewanne, DuWayne, Joe, Jason, Tony, Christopher, Shawn, Christopher, Shannon, and Brandon along with several great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sharon: (Ken) Kitzinger, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; daughters: Patricia, Pamela, Kathy; son, John; sisters-in-law: Cleone, (Ken) Rohloff, Nettie (Annette) Metcalf; brother-in-law, David (Sonny) Krause; granddaughter, Tiffany Krause; brothers: Robert Thompson and Norman Thompson.

A graveside service for Jean will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Floral Hill Cemetery in New London with Rev. Andy Behrendt officiating.
