John 'Jack' Beck

Age 78 of Manawa, died at Theda Care Hospital, New London, on Monday, February 9, 2015, with family by his side. Jack was born on July 16, 1936, in Manawa, WI son of George and Esther (Deckert) Beck. He served in the U.S. Air Force from December 1954 until his honorable discharge in February 1958. On May 7, 1960, Jack married Carol Westphal in Clintonville, WI. Jack was self-employed as a mason contractor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy, inventing and tinkering with gadgets, and gambling. Jack is survived by his wife, Carol; daughters, Cheri (Len) Below and Susie (John) Nutter; grandchildren, Amanda "Mada Sue" (Dennis) Chars and Bradley "Bradman" Below; brothers, James (Nancy) Beck, Duncan (Bernice) Beck, and Paul (Janet) Beck; and sisters, Joan (Dave) Arndt and Judy (Jim) Yaeger. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Richard, Ronald, William, and Robert. A memorial service for Jack will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home, Manawa, with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather and visit directly at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until the time of service.
