John M. Platta

John Michael Platta, 32, of Weyauwega, formerly of Waupaca, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was born on September 2, 1992 in Wausau to Lee and Michele Mirek-Platta.

As a young boy, John enjoyed playing sports with his friends and classmates. He was especially proud of his Waupaca Youth Baseball teams and a highlight was winning the 2002 W.Y.B. Championship and tournament with his team.

John graduated from Waupaca High School in 2011, and attended UW Fox Valley. John moved to Weyauwega in 2016 for extended health care at Crossroads.

He is survived by his parents, Lee and Michele; sister, Dr. Morgan Platta; aunt, Melanee Mirek; uncles: Mark (Julie) Platta and Jay (Lisa) Platta. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Jack and Marion Mirek, and Art and Nancy Platta.

There will be a Celebration of Life for John held at a later date.
