John Kevin Suehs, age 66 of Manawa, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. John was born on February 19, 1959, in New London to the late Carl and Loyola (Patri) Suehs. John married Teri Rae Herrick on July 10, 1982, and together they celebrated 43 years of marriage.
In the 1980's, John became an EMT and firefighter along with his brother Jerry, and wife Teri Rae. John was especially proud of his business, SUEHS Manufacturing, where he worked from 1981 - 1986 building Nature Bound slide-in-truck campers. He then worked at the nail factory in Hortonville until 1993 when he began his job at the Waupaca Foundry, where he worked until his retirement in 2021.
John had a love for flying airplanes and got his pilot's license when he was 20 years old. This inspired his youngest son Joshua to get his license as well. His favorite pastime was hunting, and he shared that love with all 3 of his kids. He especially loved camping and hunting with his daughter, Kristina, and her family for the past several years in Amberg, where he had hunted since he was 11 years old. John loved to sing barbershop and he also played baritone. His oldest son David was encouraged to do the same and did it with the UW Madison Marching Band in college.
John loved his family more than you could imagine and he is survived by his wife, Teri Rae; children: David (Sara) Suehs, Kristina (Jeremy) Boehnlein, Joshua (Kayla) Suehs; brother: Jeff Suehs; sister: Diane Thompson; grandchildren: Wesley, Rylan, Zoey, Evylyn, Olivia, Jessa, Cooper and Brody. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his brothers: Jim Suehs, Jerry Suehs; brother-in-law: Dennis Thompson; mother-in-law: Joyce Herrick and father-in-law Ward Herrick.
A memorial service for John will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. A gathering of family and friends for John will be held from 9:30 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Manawa First Responders and EMTs.
