Kay E. McClurg

Kay E. (Dobratz) McClurg, was born on December 2, 1954 in Green Bay, Wisconsin to DuWayne Dobratz and Anita (Skoglund) Dobratz and passed away on August 9, 2025 after battling stomach cancer for several months. She married Keith McClurg on October 18, 2003 and is survived by her husband Keith; her sons: Aaron Michael (Jill) Timm, Matthew Paul (Bobbie Jo) Timm; daughter: Erica Jean Timm: step-daughters: Jill (Eugene) Drascic, Brianna McClurg; grandchildren: MaCayla Timm, Lexus Finley, Jacob Timm, Vincente Timm, Jensen Timm, Meghan Timm, Cecilyah Timm, Brody Timm; step-grandchildren: William Drascic, Kaeleigh Drascic, Geanna Drascic, and Aryana McClurg-Kohler; brother: Glenn (Janet) Dobratz; sister: Julie (Armont) Woods, and many other relatives and friends. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; daughter: Shelly; granddaughter: Kierria Timm; step-granddaughters: Makaela and Caitlin Znalezniak.

Kay spent most of her life working in child care, along with some time spent working at the grocery store, the drive-in owned by her dad, and selling Home Interiors products. Kay started the pre-school program Little Angels at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, worked for Little Rock Child Care, Child Care Resource and Referral, and Little Saints Child Care before opening her own in-home daycare - Kay's Cuddle Care, which she operated for 11 years prior to retirement in 2017.

Kay's greatest passions were her grandchildren and attending their many sporting events. She also enjoyed scrapbooking and card-making and attending scrapbooking crops. Kay loved family get-togethers, especially the holidays. One of her treasured memories was a horse-drawn carriage ride on Christmas morning. She also loved her flowers and could never have too many. She was proud of raising her three children who all became hard-working, caring adults and parents of her wonderful grandchildren.

Kay was a member of Christ the Rock Community Church in Menasha and watched the sermons on Sunday mornings online after Covid.

The funeral service for Kay will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Manawa with Rev. Rich Engle officiating. A visitation for Kay will be held at the Life Celebration Center on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30-10:45 a.m.

In lieu of flowers Kay would prefer donations specifically to St. Paul's Little Angels Pre-School in Manawa or to St. Judes in honor of her dedication to young children.
