Leo Yohr

Age 90, of Manawa, died on Friday, October 27, 2006 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. He was born on March 1, 1916 in the Town of Little Wolf, son of the late Edward & Katherine (Nemmetz) Yohr. On April 8, 1942, he married Viola Suehs at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. Leo was an excellent athlete at Little Wolf High School, lettering in five different sports in one year. Leo & Viola lived and farmed in the Town of Little Wolf for many years, retiring in 1976. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, and watching the Badgers, Brewers, Bucks and Packers. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Viola; a son: Ray (Dawn) Yohr, Appleton; a daughter: Ginny (Dennis) Buschke, Appleton; six grandchildren: Bruce (DeDe) Yohr, Peachtree City, Georgia; Amy (John) LaFond, Appleton; Randy (Cathy) Yohr, Manawa; Greg Yohr, Appleton; Michelle (Brian) Wautlet, Appleton; Brian Buschke and friend Amber Kirk, Appleton; ten great-grandchildren: Jordan and Cameron Yohr, Brittney and Ryan LaFond, Tyler, Samantha and Garrett Yohr, Cole and Logan Wautlet, Makenzie Buschke; a brother: Robert (Connie) Yohr, Angels Camp, California; a sister: Lillian McEwen, Peoria, Illinois; a brother-in-law: Leonard (Bea) Suehs, Manawa. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Clara Reick, a brother Rev. Elmer Yohr, brothers-in-law Bob Reick and Dr. Loren B. McEwen. The funeral service for Leo will be held on All Saints Day, Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. H. William Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa.
