Linda Lane

Linda E. Lane of Manawa, age 82, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus Friday March 17, 2006. She was born November 23, 1923 in the Village of Manawa, daughter of the late Otto and Bertha (Steinbach) Ferg. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. She lived in Manawa 44 years before living in New London, Florida and later in Spearfish, SD. She was married to Ralph Lane who preceded her in death November 5, 2004. Following the death of her husband she returned to Manawa in 2004. While in Spearfish, SD she was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Upon her return to Manawa she again became a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and also a member of the choir. She had worked at various places as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed playing the organ, quilting and walking. Survivors include her brother: Franklin (Bette) Ferg, Waupaca; her sister: Velda (Paul) Quimby, Appleton; 2 nephews, 7 nieces, special God child: Sandy Spierings, Weyauwega; cousins, other relatives and friends. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. A Memorial Service for Linda will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday March 25, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa with Rev. H. William Jordan officiating. Her cremated remains will be buried in Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.
