Lonnie D. Steinbach

March 21, 1960 — February 12, 2013

Lonnie Dean Steinbach, age 52, of Weyauwega, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, with family and friends at his side. He fought a brave and short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on March 21, 1960 in New London, to loving parents Carroll and Carol (Hedtke) Steinbach. He lived in Appleton for a short time until the family moved to Weyauwega in 1966. Lonnie went to grade school at St. Peter Lutheran School in Weyauwega and was confirmed in 1975. He went on to Fox Valley Lutheran High School where he graduated in 1979. After high school, he went to work in various food companies in the area. His last job was at Tower Mobile in Waupaca. Lon had few hobbies. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, listening to his music, watching tv at night to relax or play X-Box with his brother. Lon was a kind person who would give the shirt off his back to someone who needed it. He was caring and thoughtful of other's needs. He was one of a kind and heaven will be blessed to have him. Lon is survived by his father Carroll and brother Roger, both of Weyauwega; step-brothers and sisters: Monna Zink, Weyauwega; Beverly (Rod) Wood, Waupaca; Judy (Thomas) Jennerjahn, Menasha; Stanley Zabel, Waupaca; sister-in-law: Dolores Zabel, Oxford; one aunt: Ilene Quaintance, New London; two uncles: Eugene (Sue) Hedtke, Appleton; John (Jean) Hedtke, Sugar Bush. He is further survived by many cousins and friends. Lon was preceded in death by his mother Carol, step-mother Elaine, a sister, Margo Steinbach, maternal grandparents: John and Lefa Hedtke; paternal grandparents: Frederick and Charlotte Steinbach; aunt and uncle Raymond and Angie Arndt; also an uncle Harry Quaintance; a stepbrother Richard Zabel; and three cousins Penny and Brian Hedtke and also Judy Hass. The funeral service for Lon will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1030 a.m. at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega in the spring. A visitation for will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at the funeral home from 4-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
