Lorene V. Sedlac

December 4, 1918 — March 13, 2007

Lorene Verona Sedlac, 88, was called to her heavenly home March 13, 2007, just before sunset, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. Lorene was born December 4, 1918, on the home farm in Little Wolf Township, the daughter of the late William and Irene (Zemple) Gehrke. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. On October 11, 1941, Lorene married Rudolph Andrew Sedlac. After almost 52 years of marriage Rudolph passed away on October 7, 1993. Lorene loved music and will be remembered for her gifts of song and piano playing. Her family brought her endless joy and Lorene loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly; they will miss her more than words can say. Survivors include: Her children: Maureen Blum, Manawa, WI, Ronald "Mike" (Marilyn) Sedlac, Santa Cruz, NM, Kathleen Moore, Green Bay, WI, Irene Borman, Fairbanks, AK, and William "Bill" Sedlac, Fairbanks, AK. Grandchildren: Regina (Kenny) Nix, Wild Rose, WI, Hari Arti Sedlac and Guru Dharm Sedlac, both of Santa Cruz, NM, Seth (Kristi) Moore, Green Bay, WI, Luke Moore, Houston, TX, Joshua Niva, Anchorage, AK, Josef Niva, Fairbanks, AK, Jacob (Amber) Borman, Yelm, WA, and Hannah Borman, Yelm, WA. Great-grandchildren: Brittani and Payton Nix, Wild Rose, WI, Sarah Moore, Green Bay, WI, Dominic Niva, Fairbanks, AK, Tanner Borman, Fairbanks, AK, and Jacob Borman Jr., Yelm, WA. Sisters: Ramona Tucker, Richland, MI, Dorothy Krueger, Manawa, WI, Loretta (Frank) Kern, Frankenmuth, MI, and Janet "Tiny" (Al) Jenks, Beloit, WI. Besides her parents and husband, Lorene was preceded in death by her brother Wilmer Gehrke, her daughter Christine, and son Randolph. The "Lifesong Celebration" will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007 at 11:00 am, at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 18, 2007 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm and on Monday, 10:00 am until the time of the service. The Rev. William Jordan will be officiating with Judy Jordan offering the songs of praise and worship. Burial will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. The family would like to express their gratitude to all the staff at the MCNC for their care of "Mom" during her residence there. Thank you also to Pastor and Judy Jordan, friends, relatives, and our brothers and sisters in Christ who prayed us through Mom's journey home. WELCOME HOME LORENE! LOVE, JESUS. A memorial fund will be established for LWML, St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa.
