Lorraine Lowney

September 28, 1932 — August 30, 2006

age 73, of Manawa was reunited with her husband, Leonard, and her two sons, Brian and Thomas, in heaven on Wednesday, August 30, 2006. She passed peacefully in the early morning with her family by her side. She was born on September 28, 1932 to William and Leona (Bertram) Balthazor. Lorraine graduated from New London High School in May of 1950. She married her true love, Leonard Lowney, on July 19, 1950 in Bear Creek, Wisconsin. Lorraine was a loving, dedicated wife and mother. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren. She sat through many football games and wrestling matches with a smile on her face. Lorraine is survived by her children: Kathleen Robley (Tom Kufahl), Mark (Mary) Lowney, Gerald (Barbara) Lowney, Mary (Randy) Miller, Steven (Malia) Lowney, William Lowney, JoAnn (Paul) Schmidt, Daniel Lowney, Richard (Rita) Lowney, James (Lori) Lowney, Robert (Tammy) Lowney, Donn (Tina) Lowney, Terri Clark, and Shawn (Jason) Treichel; daughter-in-law, DeeDee Lowney; brothers, Loyes (Mary) Balthazor and Raymond (Shirley) Balthazor; sister-in-laws, Sister Mary Ellen Lowney and Rosemary Lowney; 38 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 8 step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lowney (03-03-93); her sons, Thomas Lowney (06-12-93) and Brian Lowney (12-04-93); grandson, Dominic Lowney; parents, William and Leona Balthazor; sister, Joyce Balthazor; and brother-in-law, William Lowney. The Funeral Mass for Lorraine that will celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manawa with Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
