Lucille B. Spors

85, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Aug. 15, 1922, in North Bend, Wis., daughter of the late Olaf and Mae (Brinker) Byom. She graduated from Black River Falls High School Class of 1941. She graduated from Buffalo County Normal School in 1943 and taught several years. On July 29, 1944, she married Dwayne O. Spors in North Bend, Wis. She moved to Manawa with her husband in 1979. She was a member of the Manawa United Methodist Church and active in the Mary Circle. She was an avid Cubs fan, Packers fan and Badgers fan. Her special joy in life was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Shelby (Vern) Nauman, Black River Falls, Wis.; Rod (Jackie) Spors, Appleton; Lori (Douglas) Brigham, Manawa, Wis.; Tony (Kelly) Spors, Brandon, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, Daryl (Briana) Spors, Derek (Erin) Spors, Barry Spors, Jim (Paula) Wilfong, Todd (Diane) Wilfong, Dwayne (Carson) Brigham, Travis Brigham, Tara Brigham, Keegan and Brady Spors, Jacob and Jordan Behm; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Rolland (Doris) Byom, North Bend, Wis.; Robert (Bonnie) Byom, Melrose, Wis.; Wilford (Edith Ann) Byom, Kenosha, Wis.; one sister, Evelyn Ostrander, West Salem, Wis.; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Olivia Spors and a brother, Chester. The funeral service for Lucille will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2008, at the United Methodist Church in Manawa with the Rev. Dale Eggert officiating. Burial will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. Relatives and friends may call directly at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Lucille's family wishes to thank the staff of Theda Care At Home, especially Tanya, for the loving care mother received.
