Marjorie J. Hotvedt

Marjorie J. Hotvedt, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, in Manawa. She was born on the family farm on July 18, 1941, in Laona, WI, daughter of the late Harry and Grace (Eastman) Chapman Sr. During Marjorie's younger years she lived and worked in Milwaukee until her sister introduced her to her future husband, Lesley N. Hotvedt of Ogdensburg. They were married on November 24,1965 in Crandon and resided in Ogdensburg. Lesley preceded her in death in 1994.

Marjorie then became a stay-at-home mom where she spent her days taking care of their three children: Rhonda (Derek) Wilz of Manawa, Gary (special friend, Cindy) Hotvedt of Weyauwega, and Tom (Mary) Hotvedt of Waupaca. Once the kids were old enough, Marjorie went to work as a CNA at Manawa Nursing Center for around 27 years. Marjorie took pride in taking care of others and even provided home care to the elderly of the Manawa community. Upon retirement she moved to Manawa where she spent her time watching and caring for her grandchildren, watching the Packers and Brewers play and the Game Show Network, and was also an avid Elvis Presley fan. One of her many highlights in life was being able to visit Graceland.

She is remembered by her family as being overly generous during Christmas as it was her favorite holiday to bake and spend time with everyone she loved. She was looking forward to her two grandchildren's weddings later this year.

She is survived by her three children and five grandchildren: Katrina Wilz & Hannah Hinnefeld (Green Bay), Luke Wilz & Hannah Kirchner (Baraboo), Lesley Wilz (Manawa), Kyle Hotvedt (Waupaca), Kendra Hotvedt (Waupaca): great-grand fur-babies: Calvin, Dash, Rusty, and Bella; her brother: Clay (Martha) Chapman of Waupaca; her sister and brother in-law: Patricia and Gerald Wilie; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary (Al) Eberhardt, Thelma (Dave) Petzoldt, Violet (Wilfred) Wilson; four brothers: Charlie, George, Clifford, and Harry Chapman; four infant siblings.

The funeral service for Marjorie will be held on Saturday, February 4 at 1:00 pm at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Life Celebration Center of Manawa with Rev. Jill Meyer officiating.
