Martin O. Knaack

November 15, 1928 — January 20, 2007

of Pine River, age 78, passed away Saturday January 20, 2007 at the Weyauwega Health Care Center. He was born in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County on November 15, 1928 son of the late Fred and Minnie (Dallmann) Knaack. He attended Lake Michels Grade School and served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954 in the Korean War as an engineer. He then returned home and was a dairy farmer. Martin was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baldwins Mill. He enjoyed woodworking projects, helping at the ramp bowling program at King Veterans Home and maintenance problems at church. He was a life member of VFW Post 10407 of Weyauwega. He married Mary Broker August 10, 1968. She survives along with daughters: Rhonda, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Rachel (Aaron) Brewer, Oakwood Hills, IL; Renee (Scott) Hosket, Weyauwega; and son: Ronald (Karen) Knaack, Weyauwega. Also surviving is a brother: Herbert (Patricia) Knaack, Royal Oak, MI; sisters: Margaret Yesse, Waupaca, WI; and Gertrude (Donald) Hansen, Ripon, WI; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law: Joseph Yesse and nephews: Tom and Robert Hansen. The funeral service for Martin will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 25, 2007 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Baldwins Mill with Rev. Barry Hoerz officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega with graveside military rites provided by VFW Post 10407 of Weyauwega. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
