Marvin R. Fahser

Age 78, of Manawa, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born on August 18, 1929 in the Town of Little Wolf, son of the Late Robert & Lydia (Czich) Fahser. He was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran School in Manawa in 1943 and then graduated from Little Wolf High School in 1947. After graduation, he worked for A. Sturm & Sons until he was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952 in Germany during the Korean War. Marvin married Grace Schwede on May 15, 1954. He was a Fairmont Milk Distributor in the area for 17 years. Marvin worked at Ron & Lloyd's in Waupaca for 16 years and at the Piggly Wiggly in Waupaca for 15 years, retiring in April of 2004. Marvin was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bear fan. He enjoyed bowling, sports, and playing cards. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa where he served as an elder and on the stewardship and finance committees. He also played on the dart ball team for many years and coached boys basketball for a while. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Grace (Schwede) Fahser; a daughter: Cindy (Ron) Welsch, Menomonie; his sons: Jack of Caledonia; James of Cudahy; John of Oconomowoc and Jeff of Fremont; grandchildren: Emily Hintzman, La Crosse; Erin Hintzman, Grand Forks, N.D.; Andrew Hintzman, Menomonie; Jesica Fahser, Oconomowoc; a brother: Kenneth (Margaret) Fahser, Manawa; sisters-in-law: Nila Ewald, June (Larry) Ochowski, and Agnes Schwede; an aunt: Mabel Chich. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother Mayford; brothers-in-law Lynn Schwede and Ken Schwede, Don Ewald; a sister-in-law Carla (Pipe) Schwede; a niece Jill and a nephew Scott; his mother-in-law Ella Schwede Hartmann and fathers-in-law Arthur Schwede and William Hartmann. The funeral service for Marvin will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke and Rev. Wally Waite officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery in the Town of Little Wolf. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
