Mary Kay Jackson

Mary Kay Jackson, age 76, of Appleton, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 19, 2014, at her residence following her battle with cancer. She was born on June 1, 1938, in Arizona. Mary Kay worked at Franciscan Care in Appleton as the Activities Programmer and also cared for people suffering from dementia for over 30 years. She retired in 2005, but still volunteered there until she no longer could because of her health. Mary Kay enjoyed crocheting, cooking and baking, loved to collect things, especially M & M's. The past couple of years, she enjoyed attending services at Appleton Alliance Church.

She is survived by her 2 daughters: Nora Claire and Mary Beth, and their children in California; her close adopted family: her sister, caretaker, friend, and lifelong partner, Mitzie Radtke, Appleton; Russell Radtke, Weyauwega; Patricia (LaVern) Leupold, Weyauwega; Ozzie (Carol) Radtke, New London; Gloria (Joe) Swedesky, New London; Walter Radtke, Weyauwega; Natalie (Dave) Lubinski, Weyauwega; sister-in-law: Bette Radtke, Shelton, WA; and all of their children, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandmother and a sister, her adoptive parents Walter and Ardis (Wall) Radtke, and Bette's husband Richard.

The funeral service for Mary Kay will be held on Monday, June 23, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Appleton Alliance Church with Rev. Mark Tegtmeier officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. A visitation for Mary Kay will be held directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice and her special friend Sue Knuth, for their wonderful care and concern of Mary Kay.
