Mary L. Mahy

Age 84, of Manawa, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. She was born on October 1, 1930, daughter of the late Bernard and Fredia (Hein) Kuhn. Mary graduated from Shawano High School in 1948. On November 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gene Mahy; he preceded her in death in 2009. After staying at home with the kids when they were young, she worked at various businesses in Shawano, lastly as a housekeeper at the Best Western. She enjoyed working as a volunteer at St. John's Thrift Shop in New London. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, where she made quilts for those in need. Some of her hobbies included needlework and sewing. She is survived by her children: Michael (Dyan) Mahy, Fond du Lac; Jane (Phil) Severinski, Woodridge, IL; Rachel (Doug) Beyer, Manawa; 8 grandchildren: Josh, Ryan, Erin, Philip, Katie, Hailey, Dusty and Corey; 2 great-grandchildren: Michaela and Makenzie; a sister: Barbara Parrott, Shawano; brother-in-law: Raymond Mahy, Oshkosh. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, also a sister Betty Mitchell. A memorial service for Mary will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa (742 Depot St.) with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Shawano. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
