Age 83, of Manawa, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at his residence. He was born on May 12, 1930 in New London, son of the late Arno and Edna (Schwandt) Schultz. On September 10, 1949 he married Jane Doughty. She preceded him in death in 1999. On May 8, 2003 he married Mary Shambeau. Mayford farmed his entire life in Manawa until 2000. He enjoyed watching Brewer, Packer and Badger games on TV. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. He is survived by his wife Mary; children: Barbara (Randy) Wickman, Bonduel; Gary (Teri) Schultz, Iola; Tim (Cathy) Schultz, Manawa; grandchildren: Lisa Eccles, Jennifer Hacker, Jon Wickman, Melisa (Brian) Hansen, Holly Schultz, Megan Schultz, Heather Schultz, Jason (Leann) Schultz; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister Iris (Robert) Farmer; sisters-in-law: Marcella Leitzke and Patsy Hanson; step-children: Kris Shambeau, Sally (Dave) Thiel, Brian Shambeau, Scott Shambeau, Amy (Paul) Pinkalla. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law: Russell and Evan Doughty. A memorial service for Mayford will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa with Rev. Vilas Mazemke officiating. Burial will be in Ogdensburg Park Cemetery later this spring. A gathering of family and friends will take place directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations would be preferred to the St. Paul Lutheran Window Fund.
