Meryl Rae Teal

February 17, 1915 — January 18, 2011

Age 95, Weyauwega, died on Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Meryl was born on February 17, 1915, in Weyauwega, daughter of the late Charles and Caroline (Bergstresser) Springer. She attended Evanswood grade school and graduated form Weyauwega High School. On May 27, 1939, she was united in marriage to Edward Teal at Presbyterian Church in Kimberly. They lived in Fremont where Meryl was employed from 1935-1941 as a telephone operator. In 1946, they moved to Weyauwega where Meryl was involved in many activities, Westminster Guild, Kennsington bridge club and other bridge clubs, bowling team and Eastern Star. She was an avid Packers fan and attended many games, and never missed watching a Brewer's game. Meryl was a beautiful seamstress, and enjoyed reading her Bible. She loved her angel collection and the color blue. Her answer to a long life was to have a sense of humor and faith in God. Meryl is survived by two children, Michael (Ellen) Teal, New London and Mary (Gene) Land, Kaukauna. Five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Eddie", a granddaughter, Jessica, two brothers, Foster and Doyle, and a sister, Norah. Funeral services for Meryl will be held on Thursday, January, 20, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Weyauwega, with Rev. Sherwood McKay, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A special thank you to the caring staff at St. Joseph Residence and also a special thank you to the "Angels" with Heartland Hospice.
