Meta Ernst

Age 91, died Sunday, August 24, 2008 at the Weyauwega Health Care Center. She was born March 4, 1917 in West Bloomfield, daughter of the late William and Emma (Schmidt) Gallnick. On October 1, 1939, she married Arnold Ernst in West Bloomfield. He preceded her in death in 1992. They lived and farmed until moving to Weyauwega in 1968. Meta was employed with Miles Kimball, Oshkosh and also Lambskins, Berlin. Meta and Arnold were King and Queen of the Horse and Buggy celebration in Weyauwega in 1991. She is survived by her two daughters: Mary Ann Pickelheimer and Marlene (Joe) Phillips, both of Weyauwega; 11 grandchildren: Todd (Joan) Phillips, Appleton; Troy (Lynn) Phillips, Spencer; Amy (Leon) Phillips, Mouston; Ty (Julie) Phillips, Waupaca; Tiffany (Mike) Killips, Clintonville; Tammy (Eric) Nelson, Appleton; Bobbie (Ted) Anunson, Larsen; Toni (Rick) Higgins, Dousman; Ryan (Lisa) Phillips, New London; Robin (Paul) Locy, New London; Traci (Greg) Zietlow, Weyauwega; 30 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a sister Selma Henschel, Weyauwega; a sister-in-law: Marion (Lyle) Ernst, Appleton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 5 brothers-in-law. The Christian Funeral for Meta will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega with Rev. Dennis Lemke officiating. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
