Nancy A. Ferg

Nancy Ann Ferg, age 68, of Hortonville, Wisconsin, formerly of Manawa, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. Nancy was born on August 25, 1956, in New London, WI, to Wesley and Eunice Ferg. 

Growing up on her family's farm in Ogdensburg, WI, she led an active and busy childhood. She attended Little Wolf High School, she was a cheerleader, played basketball, volleyball, and ran track, and was the band majorette. She was prom queen, spent summers as a lifeguard, and taught swimming lessons in Manawa. After graduating in 1974, she continued her love of swimming at UW-Eau Claire, competing on the university team.

In 1977, she married Rick Peterson of Manawa and raised their children in their hometown. Nancy was employed by Hillshire Farm/Tyson Foods until her retirement. Nancy loved gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers. She was also an incredible cook. Some of her favorite times were spent with her children on family camping trips, shopping adventures, and trips to the movie theater. She was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, always cheering on the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. She enjoyed live music, especially rock. Nancy always looked forward to holidays and birthdays where she could enjoy time with her family, children and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children: Dana (Corey) Bogenschutz of Green Bay, Tony Peterson of Manawa, and Jana (Cole) Rasmussen of Green Bay; her beloved grandchildren: Alex and Rhys Bogenschutz, and Juna Rasmussen; special friend Ken Wynboom. She is also survived by her brother, Jay (Vicky) Ferg of Ogdensburg; her sister, Wendy (Paul) Nichols of New London; sister-in-law, Cindy Ferg of Waupaca; her children's father Rick Peterson of Manawa, and many other family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Connie; and her brothers Jim and John. 

A Celebration of Life Service for Nancy will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dahlke Life Celebration Center in Manawa with Rev. Jill Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery at a later date. A visitation for Nancy will be held on Tuesday prior to the service at the Celebration Center from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.
