Nancy Rae Dieck

December 29, 1935 — June 20, 2007

Age 71, of Appleton, passed away on June 20, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 29, 1935 in Holstein, Iowa, daughter of the late Raymond & Henrietta Meier. Nancy graduated from Cushing High School and Wartburg College. She taught elementary school in Iowa and Wisconsin for many years. Nancy married Rev. Evan Dieck on June 1, 1958. She was very active in WELCA and taught Sunday school. She sang in the college choir and church choir. Her chocolate cookies were the best ever! After Nancy and Evan moved to Appleton in 1997, Nancy continued her love of sewing by doing alterations for people, as well as working at Sears. Nancy was a member of St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church in Neenah. Nancy is survived by two daughters: Ann (Chris) Thiele, Rothschild; Sarah (Carl) Sieg, Mt. Horeb; a son (all she could take): Paul (Tara) Dieck, Neenah; nine grandchildren: Eric and Adam Thiele, Sabrina, Monica and Micah Sieg, Margo, Christian, Ava and Samuel Dieck; a sister: Carol Borchers, Holstein, Iowa; two brothers: Roger (Jean) Meier, Galva, Iowa; Lynn (Mary Jo) Meier, Manson, Iowa. She is further survived by numerous aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Evan Dieck. The Christian Funeral for Nancy will be held on Sunday, June 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's Ev. Lutheran Church in Neenah (140 S. Green Bay Rd.) with Rev. Joel T. Schlachtenhaufen officiating. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Caroline, Wisconsin on Saturday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2007, and also at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Thanks to the Hospital Staff at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Clark in Neenah , and a special thanks to the staff at Emerald Valley Assisted Living for their loving care and respect for Nancy.
