Paul & Effie's obits
Paul Lawson, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Bethany Home in Waupaca. He was born on February 20, 1930, in Artemus, Kentucky son of the late Leslie and Eva (Brown) Lawson. Paul was a devoted husband and loved his family and friends. He was a passionate, generous man who doted on babies and all his pets. Having had five daughters, he taught his girls to never think they couldn’t do something just because they were a girl. He was an electrician by trade and a jack of all trades. He was an avid sportsman, conservationist, fisherman, and inventor. His self-crafted pontoon boats were a fisherman’s delight and his snow machines inspired awe, especially when he built a snowblower out of a combine. He loved fishing with his friends and teaching people to fish among other things. When he wasn’t out on the water fishing, he was in his shop conjuring up a remedy for an old truck or some other machine he thought could be put to better use. He was a complex man who was loved and his presence is greatly missed.

Paul and Effie were married on July 19, 1948, in Lily, Kentucky. They loved a good joke, good food (especially fresh fried fish fresh from the water) and big band music.
