Richard C. Larson

June 29, 1933 — November 6, 2014

age 81, Waupaca. Our family lost a beautiful, gentle husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. Richard passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on November 6, 2014. Richard was born June 29, 1933, in La Crosse WI to Charles and Anna (Patschull) Larson. He graduated from Logan High School and attended Wisconsin State College - La Crosse. Richard began a lengthy career in retail management which led him to Schultz Brothers Co. His employment as a manager with Schultz Brothers brought him to numerous cities throughout Wisconsin. It was in one of those cities, Platteville, that he met his loving wife Darlene (nee Harty). They were united in marriage on September 7, 1963 in Lancaster WI. Richard and Darlene raised four children, Michael (Denise), Shawn (Maria), Kelly and Kevin. When his time with Schultz Brothers came to an end, Richard embarked on a new career with Appleton Marble and Granite. This new job allowed Richard the opportunity to meet several new people as he helped them memorialize their loved ones. That was a perfect match for him as making friends and helping people was his true calling. His wife and children often traveled with Richard as he called on people throughout the state. Richard enjoyed playing cards, long drives through the countryside, and traveling around Wisconsin to visit family and friends. He also enjoyed listening to his scanner and sharing a beer and a laugh with his buddies. Richard is survived by his wife and children, his grandchildren, Roger, Darlene, Trevor, Brittanie, Devin, Alyssa, Carissa, Laura, Stephanie, Patrick and Danielle, and his great grandchildren, Gage, Kylie, Remmington, Achira, Cameron, Eliza, Jacqueline, Skyler, Malakai, Zoey, Zander, Jeremy, Alexis and Hannah. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Fee, sisters-in-law Beverly Larson, and Jean Lyght, his brother-in-law Jack Grampovnik, and several nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, sister Marilyn, sisters-in law Peg Chadwick, Judy Grampovnik, brothers-in-law Gale Lyght, Loren Chadwick, William Fee, and Archie Cook. According to his wishes cremation has taken place. A private family memorial will take place with burial at a later date.
