Rita M. Schefelker, age 100, went to her heavenly home on July 11, 2026. She was born on May 2, 1926 in Manawa, WI, the daughter of Edwin and Elsie (Voss) Jensen. Rita graduated from Little Wolf High School in Manawa, attended college in St. Paul, Minnesota to become a keypunch operator, and briefly worked in Clintonville and Milwaukee.
On October 5, 1946, Rita was united in marriage to Everett Schefelker at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa. They enjoyed 73 years of marriage before Everett's passing in 2020. Rita and Everett farmed together in the Town of Little Wolf for many years. Rita was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Manawa, where she taught Sunday School for many years and was an active member of LWML. She enjoyed reading Christian books and attending Bible studies. The Lord blessed Rita with the gift of hospitality. She so graciously shared her cooking talent and warmly welcomed many into her home. She loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Perry (Diane) Schefelker, Jeffrey (Joanne) Schefelker; daughter, Judy (Don) Daley; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Everett Schefelker; her son, Russell Schefelker; grandson, Andrew Schefelker; sister, Sylvia Wenaas; brother, Harold Jensen; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Ruth Schefelker, Lawrence and Lorraine Hergert, and Kenneth and Margaret Fahser.
The funeral service for Rita will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Manawa, with Rev. Nathan Reichle officiating. Burial will be in Little Wolf Cemetery, Manawa. A visitation for Rita will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
