Ronald Wayne Lund Sr., 74, went peacefully to his Lord and Savior while surrounded by his family on April 29, 2021.

Ron was born on February 24, 1947 to the late Elizabeth (Martzahl) Sherwood and Robert Lund in Appleton, WI. He was united in marriage to Diane Young at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville on August 30, 1969.

Ron was a hardworking husband and father that led him through various jobs in his life. He was a roofer, carpenter, and worked at Sturm Foods and Churny Cheese retiring in 2008 due to medical issues.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing on the raft "Little Tipsy", pontooning and camping. He enjoyed going for walks, visiting with the neighbors, and taking in nature. He was considered a great friend by many and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Most of all, Ron loved his grandchildren. He loved going to their games, plays and all the activities they were involved in. They loved grandpa, especially when he took them for rides in the "old red truck" and on the 4-wheeler.

Ronald is survived by his loving wife Diane, who was also his caretaker for many years; his children: Brian Lund, Michelle (Troy) Simonis, Tom Lund, Melinda (Tony) Ehlke, Jeremy (Aimee) Lund, Ron Jr. (Angie) Lund; grandchildren: Myranda (Zach) Nilsson, Brandon Ehlke, Brittany Meyer (and special friend Michael), Jacob (Kylee) Lund, Emilee Lund, Brianna Lund (and special friend Garret), Lexis Ehlke, Davianna Lund, Taelyn Lund, Mason Ehlke, Darrian Lund, Tucker Lund, Dellana Lund, and Parker Ehlke; great-grandson Myles Liebl and expectant sibling; brothers: Larry (Karen) Sherwood, Jerry (LeAnn) Sherwood, Scott Sherwood, Ricky (Dawn) Lund; sisters: Cindy (Ron) Boone, Ruth (Bob) Jones, Rita (Gary) Wilson, Roberta (Greg) Laabs, Renee (Jay) Ruediger; brother-in-law: Randy (Paula) Young; sisters-in-law: Sharon Werner, Cindy Lenz, Kris (Tom) Riehl, Sheila (Todd) Zielke. He is further survived by nephews, nieces and other wonderful relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, father, mother-in-law and father-in-law; brothers: Charlie Lund, Joe Lund and Raymond Lund; sister Roseann Carpenter and sister-in-law Virginia Kringel.

Ron's family would like to thank the hospice nurses from ThedaCare at Home for their support and compassion.

The Funeral Mass for Ron will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 11:00am at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Weyauwega, with Father Matthew Rappl officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. A visitation for Ron will take place at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 am until 10:45am.
