Ruth A Nemmetz, age 100, Town of Union, went to her heavenly home on April 23, 2026. Ruth was born on December 11, 1925 in the Township of Caledonia, WI, daughter of the late Walter and Clara (Drews) Tews. She was baptized as a child of God as Ruth Anna Magdalena Tews two weeks later by Pastor August Mueller at Zion Lutheran Church. She confirmed her faith on April 2, 1939 at the same church by Pastor Schaefer.
Ruth married Burnell Nemmetz on June 7, 1947 by Pastor Tornow. They lived on their dairy farm in Town of Union. They farmed together for 67 years where Ruth drove tractor, fed chickens, calves and many other animals.
Ruth very much loved serving the Lord in many different ways, from playing piano in Sunday School and choir, Cradle Roll, Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, LWML, Busy Bees and helping serve many dinners in St. Mark Lutheran Church. Together they enjoyed going to LLL conventions and rallys.
Her strong faith left a legacy for her surviving family; sons: Keith Nemmetz and Kneale (Kristy) Nemmetz; daughter, Karen (Tim) Fischer; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Allen (Shirley) Nemmetz.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burnell; brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The funeral service for Ruth will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to either: The Lutheran Hour, LWML (Lutheran Women in Mission), or St. Mark Lutheran Church.
To God alone be the glory!
